Download Powometer for Windows Mobile
There is now a Winodws Mobile version of Powometer. Installing Powometer Mobile (PMM) on your Windows Mobile phone or PDA allows you to view your energy usage from anywhere while on the move. All you need is internet access.
Download Powometer for Windows Mobile
iPhone users - see below.
To set this up, you need to have Powometer running and connected to Wattson on your home computer. Powometer must also be connected to the internet. Once you install Powometer Mobile on your phone or PDA, you can login and view your current usage in realtime (well there's a delay of about 15 seconds but what's 15 seconds between friends?)
What you need:
- A Windows Mobile (version 5+) phone or PDA
- Microsoft .NET compact framework 3.5 (See below)
- Powometer Mobile (see below for download)
- Internet connection from your phone / PDA
A Windows Mobile (version 5+) phone or PDA:
Most smart phones bought in the last two to three years which run windows mobile will have Windows 5+.
Microsoft .NET compact framework 3.5:
Download this file NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab, save it to your phone of PDA. From within your phone, run the file to install it.
Powometer Mobile:
Download the latest version using the download link at the top of the page. Save it to your phone or PDA's internal drive and run it.
Once running, enter your username and password and press Connect.
Internet connection from your phone / PDA:
Here's the disclaimer: This uses an internet connection. While the traffic is very lightweight, it still uses data. There is an information tab which shows you your rough data used.
If you have the auto connect feature on and a high update frequency, it will poll quite often. This will increase your data usage.
If you do not have a data package with your network provider, this may run up your bill pretty badly. It's up to you to check.
Finally, if there is someone who knows how to speak iPhone, please let me know. The interface is very simple and very light. I would help in writing one but don't really have time to learn yet another language and write one. Who knows, I might dabble....
